CULMINA RESTAURACIÓN DE CATEDRAL DE CHICLAYO
* Monumento histórico recuperará tradicional esplendor.
El domingo próximo se inaugurarán los trabajos de restauración de los atrios de la iglesia Santa María Catedral de Chiclayo, informaron fuentes oficiales del Obispado de Chiclayo.
Medio millón de soles fueron invertidos en la restauración de los atrios a fin de devolverle el atractivo visual a este majestuoso monumento histórico de más de 50 años de antigüedad.
Se arreglaron 1,584.92 metros cuadrados de pisos y construyó 208.80 metros lineales de canaletas pluviales en los atrios laterales y posterior de la catedral.
Además, se limpiaron los residuos fecales acumulados en la parte superior del templo, generados por los gallinazos que se posan en la estructura religiosa.
Los trabajos se iniciaron el pasado 18 de junio y culminarán el 8 de noviembre.
Sólo falta pintar los muros y las rejas.
Asimismo el párroco de la Catedral, Jorge Carrasco Fuentes, sostuvo que aún está pendiente la restauración de las cornisas, cuyo expediente está para su aprobación en el Ministerio de Cultura.
Hace 10 días se elevó el documento y se espera que no tenga observaciones, para programar las actividades que permitan recaudar el dinero para la restauración de las cornisas, acotó.
Invocó la participación de autoridades, instituciones, empresas y voluntarios de Chiclayo que deseen colaborar, para la restauración de las cornisas, que se desplomaron tras soportar Lambayeque un sismo de singular intensidad en abril pasado.
